Another, 17 th, goal of the Fund of the Ones Who Care is a pediatric surgical suspension laryngoscope with endoscopes for the Lviv Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital Okhmatdyt.

Surgical diseases of the larynx and trachea in children include laryngeal papillomatosis, cicatricial laryngeal stenosis, congenital malformations of the larynx and trachea, and benign and malignant tumors. Such pathologies pose a direct threat to children’s life. Most children’s hospitals in Western Ukraine do not operate on such children and refer them to the Kyiv Okhmatdyt.

In Okhmatdyt pediatric ENT department, children with some of these conditions are operated on. Unfortunately, the limited set of surgical tools prevents them from expanding the range of operations. In 2018, ENT specialists of Okhmatdyt did an internship at the Pediatric Otolaryngology Clinic in Poznań with Professor Szydłowski. It is a prominent Polish clinic that provides care for children with surgical diseases of the larynx and trachea. Professor Szydłowski also attended the Lviv Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital Okhmatdyt for three times to advise and help with operations on such children.

Therefore, there is a great need for a surgical pediatric suspension laryngoscope with endoscopes and for tools for microlaryngoscopy operations to make it possible to treat children at the Lviv Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital Okhmatdyt.
